Election 2015: Farage turns on debate audience

UKIP leader Nigel Farage has accused those attending the BBC's election debate of being a "left-wing audience" before suggesting "the real audience are sitting at home".

He then put it to the other members of the panel that "open-door immigration" had "directly contributed to the housing crisis".

But SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon suggested he needed to "put the bogeyman to one side" to enable people to "debate these issues for real and in substance".

UK viewers can watch the debate in full on the BBC iPlayer.
