SNP claims victory whilst Labour results 'are not good enough'

Labour has suffered a bruising night in Scotland, with parties battling for second place after suffering major loses to the conservatives, with the SNP on course for victory.

In England though, it is not so bleak as Labour has managed to retain a number of key councils.

In Wales, Jeremy Corbyn's party is expected to remain the largest party in the devolved assembly. But for the first time, UKIP could also win seats.
