General election 2017: Theresa May on funding care for older people

The social care system “will collapse unless we do nothing about it”, the prime minister has said as there will be two million more people over the age of 75 within 10 years.

She was speaking to Andrew Neil after announcing an "absolute limit" on the money people will have to pay for social care, which critics said was a U-turn.

Mrs May said in the BBC1 interview: "Nothing has changed from the principle on social care policy I set out in the manifesto.”
