Maureen Carr and her adopted daughter, Nicola told BBC Breakfast, external about their initial shock when Nicola was approached online by her natural sister which led to her now having contact with her birth mother.

Julie Feast from the charity, The British Association for Adoption and Fostering explains about how the process of meeting birth families is highly emotional and needs careful handling.
