Kirsten Dunst praise for Lars von Trier

Kirsten Dunst, who picked up the best actress award at the Cannes film festival for her role in Melancholia, said she was attracted to the part because of director Lars von Trier.

Von Trier was barred from the festival for remarks made at a news conference in which he said he was a Nazi. He later said he had spoken in jest.

Despite the controversy, his leading actress praised the Danish film director and said making the film had been a "special opportunity" to work with Von Trier.
