Talking Movies: Film tells story of 1970s tabloid sensation

The latest film from top American documentary maker, the Oscar-winning Errol Morris, looks at a tabloid story that mesmerised many British newspaper readers in the late 1970s.

The focus was on the the colourful exploits of former Miss Wyoming Joyce McKinney who travelled to Britain to retrieve her ex-boyfriend Kirk Anderson - a Mormon missionary.

Morris's film explores the nature of tabloid journalism while also providing a portrait of an unforgettable woman.

Talking Movies is broadcast on BBC World News on Saturday at 1330 GMT and is repeated on Sunday at 0030, 0730, and 2030 GMT.
