Barack Obama turns 50th birthday into campaign fundraiser
US President Barack Obama has celebrated his 50th birthday on Wednesday with a concert fundraiser in Chicago, featuring performers including Jennifer Hudson, OK Go and Herbie Hancock.
Mr Obama was treated to a rendition of Happy Birthday by the assembled singers, before telling the crowd of more than 2000 hometown supporters they still had "much work to do".
He branded the recent stand-off between Democrats and Republicans a "self-inflicted wound".
