Picasso's Guernica surveyed by camera robot

Images of Pablo Picasso's Guernica are being captured by a computer-controlled robot, so experts can determine the painting's condition.

Humberto Duran, a conservation expert from Madrid's Reina Sofia Museum, said: "We can zoom in on the work and see what the human eye is incapable of seeing."

Experts will examine thousands of 24,000 resolution high digital images of the 75-year-old painting.

The famous work is a portrayal of the horrors of war, following the bombing of the town of Guernica in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War.
