Stars out for New York Metropolitan costume gala

A host of stars have hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Benefit gala in New York.

Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Hilary Swank, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson and Vogue Editor Anna Wintour were among the guests at the event.

This year's gala marks the opening of an exhibition showcasing Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada's work.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker said the event was about "celebrating discipline and skill".
