X-Men to feature same sex wedding after Northstar proposal

Marvel comic X-Men has featured its first same-sex wedding, after gay character Northstar proposed to his boyfriend.

Astonishing X-Men #50, which went on sale on May 23, sees Northstar, who can move and fly at superhuman speeds, propose to his long-time partner, non-superhero, Kyle Jinadu.

Thor Parker, Social Marketing Events Director of Midtown Comics' in New York, said that there was a lot of excitement in the build-up to the comic release.

Comic book fans have been supportive of the storyline, and will see the wedding in the next issue, due out on 20 June.
