Tony Scott was a 'true great of modern action cinema'

Tony Scott as a director "really pushed the envelope of how a modern action film looks and feels", the editor of Empire Magazine has said.

Chris Hewitt was speaking after news that the 68-year-old director of films such as Top Gun and True Romance, had died, after jumping from Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles.

He told the BBC's Kasia Madeira that Scott often worked "hand and hand" with his brother, Alien director Ridley Scott, in producing TV shows and movies.

He said the director was an "incredibly vibrant man" with lots of projects on the go.
