LatAm Beats: Colombian band Bomba Estéreo perform El Alma Y El Cuerpo

In the third episode of a new series showcasing Latin America's musical talent, Colombian band Bomba Estereo perform El Alma Y El Cuerpo (Soul and Body).

The band was formed in 2001 in Bogota by bass player Simon Mejia. Its line up now includes singer Liliana Saumet, Julian Salazar on guitars and Kike Egurrola on drums.

Heavily influenced by the traditions of Colombia's Atlantic coast, the kind of fusion they make with their music has been described as "psychedelic cumbia" - a hallucinatory version of the popular Latin-American rhythm.

They have released four albums and in recent years the band has performed at several international music festivals, including South by Southwest, Bonnaroo, Lovebox, and Coachella.
