Thunderbirds actor's tribute to producer Gerry Anderson

Gerry Anderson, creator of the Thunderbirds and Joe 90 puppet superhero TV shows, has died at the age of 83.

He had been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease since early 2010.

He became famous for using a sophisticated puppetry technique he branded "supermarionation."

The actor behind Thunderbirds' Alan Tracy, Matt Zimmerman, spoke to the BBC News Channel.

He said people spoke of the show with great affection and described how Anderson was ahead of his time with his portrayal of mobile telephones and hover bikes.
