Brits chief on UK music's 'incredible place'
Some of the world's biggest pop stars will gather at London's O2 arena tonight for the Brit awards.
Plan B, Rhianna and Coldplay are all possible winners.
The BBC's arts editor Will Gompertz went to meet the event's chairman David Joseph, boss of the UK arm of the globe-spanning Universal Music.
Mr Joseph explained that British pop is in "an incredible place" creatively on the world stage.
"We are back to where we were mid-eighties," he enthused.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 20 February 2013.
