Lucy: I had to do my thing on X Factor

X Factor contestants are known for singing cover versions, but last year, one contestant decided to showcase her own work.

Lucy Spraggan brought her own brand of song writing to the show, with lyrics about beer, fear, tea and toast. She was tipped to win, but had to leave the show due to illness.

Now she has a record deal and a new single, and spoke to BBC Breakfast about her experience on the show and why she is not afraid of being original.
