Talking Movies: Can Only God Forgive this film?

The film Only God Forgives is a very bloody tale of revenge starring Ryan Gosling and Kristin Scott Thomas and will be released in US cinemas this weekend.

Initially it divided critics when it was launched at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Some charged that it was a triumph of style over substance. It is also exceedingly violent.

So far the verdict of American critics on the eve of its US release has been mixed.
