Alan Cumming on appeal of Any Day Now

Alan Cumming has been speaking about his role in Any Day Now, a drama set in 1970s New York about a gay couple fighting to keep the child they take in.

Based on a true story and directed by Travis Fine, it deals with the legal battle the couple face when they try to provide a permanent home for an abandoned boy with Down Syndrome.

Cumming says he still did not think the "situation would be that different" even now.
