Documentary films focus on gay struggles in Africa
A new "mini-wave" in documentaries has emerged, with three films released so far in 2013 exploring the struggles of gay men and women in Africa.
Two of the films focus on Uganda, where a controversial Anti-Homosexuality Bill is pending, and the third follows gay people in Cameroon where many live in fear of persecution.
The emphasis of the documentaries is to show gay people not as helpless victims but fighting back against persecution.
Talking Movies' Tom Brook reports.
Talking Movies is broadcast on BBC World News on Saturday at 13:30 GMT and Sunday at 00:30, 07:30 and 20:30 GMT.
