Top Emmys go to Liberace biopic Behind The Candelabra

Los Angeles played host to the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, which recognises the best in American and international television.

The Liberace biopic, Behind The Candelabra, which was shown on the cable network HBO in the US, was the big winner of the night. It collected three awards including best TV movie and a best actor award for Michael Douglas.

Breaking Bad was named best drama, while Modern Family took the leading comedy award for the fourth time.

Claire Danes took the best actress prize for her role in Homeland, while Jeff Daniels won best actor for The Newsroom.

Best drama went to Breaking Bad, the show about a chemistry teacher who turns to drug dealing.
