'Nazi' art find contains unknown works by Chagall and Matisse

A haul of around 1,400 works of art, believed to have been looted by the Nazis, contains pieces by Picasso, Chagall and Renoir, German authorities have confirmed.

The works were found in a flat in Munich in March 2012 when its occupier was investigated for tax evasion.

A number of pieces - including some by Marc Chagall, Otto Dix, Max Liebermann and Henri Matisse - were previously unregistered.
