Kelly Marcel, the British writer on Hollywood's hit list

She may not be that well known at home but British screenwriter Kelly Marcel is already on Hollywood's speed dial.

After years working at a London video rental shop and writing in her spare time Marcel's breakthrough came when Steven Spielberg produced a TV show she created, Terra Nova.

And recently Marcel has been adapting EL James's blockbuster erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey for the big screen.

But her first feature film is Saving Mr Banks, which opened at cinemas in the UK on 29 November.

It stars Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson, who play Walt Disney and PL Travers, the author of Mary Poppins.

The new movie centres on their somewhat tempestuous relationship during the making of the now classic as Travers endeavours to control Poppins' image.

The BBC's Lizo Mzimba caught up with Marcel the morning after Saving Mr Banks's UK premiere.
