Idris Elba on portraying a living legend

Luther star Idris Elba has taken on one of the most talked-about film roles of recent years.

In Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, he portrays Nelson Mandela, the iconic South African civil rights leader who spent 27 years in prison before becoming president.

Within the film, he plays Mandela as a young man up to the present day.

Elba met up with BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz to talk about the film and his acting career.
