Sound of 2014: Banks returns to first gig venue

Singer songwriter Banks has placed third in BBC's Sound of 2014 new music poll, which aims to showcase the rising stars to watch in the year ahead.

The list was compiled using tips from more than 170 music critics, DJs and bloggers.

We are revealing one artist from the top five in reverse order every day until Friday, when the winner will be announced.

The 25-year-old from Los Angeles told BBC News about why London is so important to her, and her unique way of connecting with fans through Facebook.
