Scorsese on his new movie The Wolf of Wall Street

Martin Scorsese's new film, The Wolf of Wall Street, depicts the real life of a notorious stockbroker who swindled investors out of $200m.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jordan Belfont, a man described as "a twisted Robin Hood who takes from the rich and gives to himself and his merry band of brokers.'' He was finally caught by the FBI and jailed for his crimes.

But Scorsese's film has been accused of revelling in the corruption and debauched antics of its true-life protagonists.

Newsnight's Stephen Smith spoke to Martin Scorsese, ahead of the movie's opening, in New York.
