Film classifications set to change

The British Board of Film Classification is planning to tighten up ratings on films following a recent consultation.

Some of the findings revealed concerns over the content of certain films and music videos which amounted to concern over the use of language and sexualisation of young women.

The BBFC says it will also be giving greater weight to the overall tone or theme of a film.

Changes to the guidelines will come into force on 24 February.

David Austin from the BBFC spoke to Breakfast about the changes.
