Steve Coogan and Philomena: Pope meeting is significant
Steve Coogan and Philomena Lee, the Irishwoman whose story was told in the Oscar nominated film Philomena, have met with Pope Francis.
The pair are campaigning for the Irish government to release secret records containing details of children and parents who were forced apart through adoption.
Steve Coogan told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "The Vatican are quite aware of the significance of these meetings... so it's kind of a case of seeing how that's interpreted."
Ms Lee added that meeting the Pope at the Vatican and putting her point across was "such an honour."
