Armistead Maupin 'not sorry' to end Tales of The City

Author Armistead Maupin has told the BBC's Nick Higham he was not sorry to end the Tales of The City series with his ninth, and final, book.

However he admitted to being ''weepy'' while writing the last page - though more from happiness than sadness.

Tales of The City began as a newspaper column, and then unfolded into a series of novels, documenting the lives and loves of a group of friends in San Francisco.
