Oscars 2014: Composers celebrated in concert ahead of awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a live Oscar concert in the days leading up to the annual Academy Awards.
The concert will celebrate the songs and scores that have been nominated, ahead of the main awards show.
It will be held on Thursday at UCLA's Royce Hall. Five original scores will be performed by an 80-piece orchestra conducted by each nominated composer, plus performances of the original songs that are in the running for Best Song at the Oscars.
Charles Fox from the Academy said that it was the first time such a concert had been held.
