Henri Matisse's great-granddaughter on his cut-out artworks

Henri Matisse's cut-out artworks are "beautiful and sophisticated", the artist's great-granddaughter Sophie Matisse has said.

She told the Today programme that the cut-outs were part of a "final blooming" of Matisse's life.

An exhibition of the artwork opens on Thursday at the Tate Modern and features about 130 artworks from the latter stage of Matisse's career.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 16 April.
