Nadine Gordimer dies at the age of 90
Nadine Gordimer has died at the age of 90. She was one of South Africa's greatest writers. In 1991 she was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Several of her novels were banned by the apartheid regime. Her personal commitment to the liberation struggle never wavered.
In this interview from BBC HardTalk in 2011, Stephen Sackur asked her if South Africa post-apartheid had lived up to her expectations.
