Banksy 'Spy Booth' work defaced in Cheltenham
Campaigners who were trying to keep a Banksy mural in situ on a wall in Cheltenham are now in a "race against time" to save the work after it was defaced with graffiti.
Angela De Souza, from the group of Cheltenham business leaders Save the Banksy, said they needed to act fast to remove the scrawl on top of the work.
Earlier this week it was announced that a deal was almost secure to keep "Spy Booth" in the town, after campaigners raised the money to buy it.
The piece, depicting men "snooping" on a phone box, appeared in April, three miles from government listening post GCHQ.
