New Doctor Who titles inspired by fan

The creators of Doctor Who were so impressed by a title sequence made by one fan, they asked if they could use his ideas for the new series.

When Billy Hanshaw, from Leeds, uploaded his video to the internet it went viral.

Showrunner Steven Moffat was so impressed with it, he used it as inspiration for the opening titles of the forthcoming series, which begins this Saturday on BBC1.

Billy Hanshaw spoke to Harry Gration and Amy Garcia on the BBC's Look North programme.
