New 'rare' Elgar recording of WW1 poetry

SOMM Records has released a new recording of The Spirit of England, by Sir Edward Elgar, written at the height of the First World War.

It is a setting of three poems by Laurence Binyon, including his best-known work For the Fallen, which contains some of the most famous lines in English poetry.

BBC correspondent Nick Higham reports for the Today programme.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday 2 October.
