Alcohol led me to cocaine says Status Quo's Francis Rossi

The guitarist, singer and co-founder of the band Status Quo Francis Rossi has told BBC HARDtalk about what led him to take drugs during the 1970s and 1980s.

Mr Rossi said it was often stated that using one drug could lead to another - but alcohol was rarely cited as a drug that could lead to the use of other substances.

"It was definitely alcohol that led me to cocaine, I would have never touched it otherwise," he said.

Mr Rossi said he now talks to school children about the negative sides of drug use.
