Into The Woods: A film fairytale for the 21st century?

This week in New York, 27 years after it first appeared on the Broadway stage, a film adaptation of the musical Into the Woods was given a big world premiere.

Boasting a cast that includes Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp, the film opens to the public in the US on Christmas Day.

It faces stiff competition, but Disney hopes it will pick up some momentum from end of the year awards.
