FBI recover stolen artwork worth $12m in Los Angeles

A FBI sting operation has led to the recovery of stolen artwork worth about $12m (£7.7m) including paintings by Marc Chagall and Diego Rivera.

The suspect, Raul Espinoza, 45, was arrested after he attempted to sell the paintings to undercover agents at a hotel in Los Angeles.

The couple who owned the artwork were at home when the theft took place but they were bedridden and have since died.

Three paintings which were taken at the same time are still missing, and the FBI and Los Angeles police department are searching for other people involved in the heist.
