Oscars 2015: Polish nun's journey Ida tipped for nomination

A Polish film, Ida, is among the pictures favoured to earn a best foreign language film Oscar nomination when the shortlist of films in the running for an Academy Award is announced next week.

The film is shot in black and white, with little camera movement, but its story of a novitiate nun who discovers she is Jewish has had a powerful impact on audiences and critics alike.
