Nick McCarthy: 'They said I would never play piano well'

As a teenager seeking a place at a school for young pianists, Nicholas McCarthy was refused an audition and told he would never succeed.

He was told that having one hand would always hold him back and it was better not to waste his and other people's time.

But he was determined to follow his ambition, and has since become the first one-handed pianist known to graduate from the Royal College of Music.

He told BBC Breakfast about his musical journey.
