Jon Stewart to leave Daily Show: 'Going to miss coming here'
Jon Stewart, the host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, has told his audience he will step down later this year.
At times appearing to hold back his emotions, the comedian said he was looking forward to having "dinner on a school night with my family", who he had heard were lovely people.
He said it had "been an absolute privilege" to have been at the helm of the satirical show since 1999.
"This show doesn't deserve an even slightly restless host and neither do you," Stewart told his audience on Tuesday.
