Jeremy Clarkson 'grateful' for Top Gear fan support

Suspended Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has said he is "grateful" for the support he has received from his fans, as a petition to have him re-instated has received more than 800,000 signatures.

On Friday, it emerged that the "fracas" which had prompted the suspension had been reported to the BBC by Mr Clarkson himself.

Interviews are expected to be held with the star and other parties next week, and the show has been taken off-air.
