How computers wrote a new West End musical
Beyond the Fence is the first musical conceived and generated by computer.
It is modelled on a study of the 'recipe of success' in hit musicals such as Les Miserables and Crazy For You.
The question is can these computer algorithms create something that can entertain humans?
BBC News went backstage at rehearsals at the Arts Theatre in London to find out.
