Preventative treatment call for over-55s

Everyone over the age of 55 should be offered preventative treatment such as cholesterol or blood pressure lowering drugs, according to a study.

Researchers at Barts and the London School of Medicine say a person's age can be as effective as medical tests to predict the risk of heart disease or stroke.

They say this could save a 100,000 lives in England and Wales.

Dominic Hughes reports.
