E.coli: 'We're still getting the full picture'

The European Commission has said it is still trying to track down the source of the E.coli outbreak that has hit Europe.

Commission spokesperson Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen said their priority was "eliminating the bacteria from the foodchain".

It is thought cucumbers from Spain were at the origin of the outbreak, but Spanish officials have refused to accept the blame.

They say it is still unclear exactly when and where the vegetables were contaminated.
