E. coli confirmed in seven cases in the UK

The Health Protection Agency has confirmed that seven people in the UK have been infected with a strain of E. coli linked to a fatal outbreak in Germany.

The HPA insists there is no risk of contamination in the UK but is advising people to wash fruit and vegetables thoroughly.

It comes as Russia has banned all imports of EU vegetables.

The BBC's health correspondent Jane Hughes reports.
