Calls to curb use of 'chemical cosh' in treating dementia

More than 50 health and social care organisations are calling for action to reduce the number of people with dementia being treated with antipsychotic drugs.

It is estimated that around 180,000 dementia patients in the UK are given such medication.

Campaigners are asking for all prescriptions to be reviewed by the end of March 2011.
