Alcohol limit for the over-65s 'should be lowered'

Older people need to be more aware of the dangers of drinking too much, and should drink no more than one and a half units of alcohol a day, according to a study.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists said people above the age of 65 should limit themselves to the equivalent of a single whisky or half a standard glass of wine a day.
