Gay blood donations ban likely to be lifted

The lifetime ban on blood donations by men who have sex with men is expected to be lifted in the UK.

The restrictions were put in place in the 1980s to prevent the risk of HIV contamination.

Andrew Gilliver from the Lesbian and Gay Foundation says it's a step in the right direction but he would like to see, "less gay and bisexual men getting HIV in the first place."
