Big variation in bowel cancer death rates across the UK

Your chances of surviving bowel cancer vary dramatically, depending on where you live in the UK, according to new figures.

Glasgow has the highest death rate, at 31 in 100,000 people, moe than three times that of Rossendale in Lancashire.

The charity Beating Bowel Cancer says taking part in screening, awareness of symptoms and unhealthy diets probably all play a role in the variation.

Dominic Hughes reports.
