Car smoking ban: Forest says evidence is 'flimsy'
As the BMA calls for a ban on smoking in all cars, the pressure group which campaigns against such legislation says smokers are "literally reaching for their fags in defiance".
The BMA says research shows levels of toxins in a car after a cigarette has been smoked are up to 23 times higher than they would be in a smoky bar.
Forest's Simon Clarke said he "would not condone... an adult to light a cigarette" around small children, but that "the evidence that we've been provided with is very flimsy".
