'One of my husband's carers read the paper instead'

A year-long inquiry into standards of care has found some elderly people are suffering such serious abuse and neglect in their own homes that their human rights are being breached.

Ann Reid's husband had 53 carers in the last four years of his life. She describes some of the neglect he suffered at the hands of people appointed to care for him.
